Leander mayor run-off results

Leander residents made their voices known by turning out in record numbers for the mayoral run-off election.  Run-off elections normally have a significantly lower turnout than the original election, but Leander residents cast 212 more votes (a 7.5% increase) than in the first round.

The decisive margin between the candidates, 61.89% vs. 38.11%,  is clearly a mandate for Mayor-elect Troy Hill to lead the City of Leander in fiscal restraint, property tax relief, and putting the interests of Leander residents first.

Both the candidates and the volunteers supporting them generated a substantial amount of awareness in the importance of this election. The turnout is further testimony to the freedom of volunteer grassroots efforts and civic engagement by the voters, healthy barometers of a constitutional republic.
