How now shall we live: restoring post-election civility in a divided country

Note: This was intentionally scheduled for publication to coincide with the polls closing in Texas on election night, November 6, 2018. The message applies regardless of the outcome.  The first half of the title is borrowed from a work by Chuck Colson and Nancy Pearcey, How Now Shall We Live, playing off Dr. Francis Schaeffer’s, How Should We Then Live.

No amount of yelling, debating or legislating can address the root issue that is manifested in an election. There is but one solution, and the man who is often regarded as the greatest intellect in U.S. history put his finger on it like no other. This is where we are. This is what we need, for such a time as this:
