The United States has long been in short supply of true statesmen. When one appears on the scene, his clarity is so compelling that his mere presence illuminates the pompous pretentiousness of his colleagues.

Ted Cruz and Ben Sasse are such statesmen. Their civil tongues and command of truth was recently on full display in the Senate Judiciary hearings for the confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh, Supreme Court nominee.
